Long Style Easel Card Tutorial by Gail Scott -

Supplies:
Designer Cardstock for base - cut @ 5
1/2" x 6 1/4"
Plain Cardstock for mat cut @ 3" x 5 3/8 "
Recycled cardboard - 2 pieces glued
together - cut each @ 1 7/8" x 5
1/2"
Circle Die for stamped image [other
shapes can be used]
Stamp & Ink
Coloring medium of your choice for
image
Embellishments of your choice
Instructions:
Cut the card base 6 1/4 inches by 5
1/2 inches
Lay the 6 1/4 inch side at the top of
the scoring tool - score at
1 1/2 " and 3 1/4 " -
burnish the score lines
The scored section shown to the right of the
card base in this photo, is where the Plain cardstock and recycled cardboard pieces will be
glued down
Cut a piece of Plain cardstock
3" x 5 3/8 " to be used at the mat
Cut two piece of Recycled Cardboard 1
7/8 inches wide by 5 1/2 inches long and glue together - one on top of the
other
Glue the Plain cardstock on the mat
area first and then glue the recycled two layered cardboard piece on top - I
glued the recycled cardstock 3/8 inches from the edge of the card as show in
this photo
After gluing the mat and recycled
cardboard your card should look like this
Stamp your image on white cardstock -
I am using MFPSS Lion image with Rangers Black Archival Ink . Color the image with the medium of your
choice - I used Spectrum Noir Markers - Chalk - and I distressed around the
edges with brown ink
Cut your image with a Spellbinders
Circle die or any die shape of your choice
Here is my image colored and die cut
Measure where you want your image to
be placed on the Front Panel of the card - I placed my image on the top panel and drew a
pencil line so I knew where I had to place my score tape - the Score tape will
be positioned on the lower part of the image only.
Score tape has been added on the back
of the image in the lower section as shown in this photo of the back of my
image - remove the protective tap from the score tapeand glue to the Front panel
of the card
Your card should look like this after
the image is glued to the front panel
Here is a front view with the card
standing up and the front panel behind the cardboard
Please note - sometimes I find Easel type cards do not always standing upright - I
have found if I lay the top part of the card flat and then insert the top panel
behind the cardboard it will work again - another trick is to add buttons on
the recycled cardstock card base like I did in my finished card to give extra
support.
Embellish your card as desired. The
top panel will fold flat and the card will fit inside a size A2 envelope for
mailing.

Howdy Crafters - I am liking these Motion Cards that I purchased through Silhouette by Mini Lou. I especially like the paper cardstock slider attachment used inside the card behind the Dragon - it will fold flat to send in the mail ~ I got a bit silly with the Stamping sentiment ~ Thank you for stopping by and have a blessed week ~ Gail~
