Money Jar

Howdy Crafters - I saw a photo of this cute idea on the Internet and said to myself "Self you can do that!"  So here it is.

Just think of all of the ideas that can be used with this  graduation jar idea - fill it with candy and place on the guest tables - or how about a wedding theme, baby shower, birthday - just by changing the hat or top piece that slips over the jar -  or a jar of encouragement notes - valentines, etc. so cool!

My grand-daughter Taylor will get her money wrapped up like diplomas in this card and placed in a bag with her card - June 6 is her graduation and June 5 is her birthday - Happy 18th Birthday Taylor!~ ~ thanks Crafters for stopping by and have a blessed week ~ Gail~
Recipe
3x 3 square piece of Black cardstock [or whatever color you want for graduation hat]
2 inch wide [make it whatever width you want - about 10 inches long] for the bottom of the cap - I made mine easy but just wrapping it around the jar and then I stapled the ends - you can glue the ends if you do not want staples showing in the back.
I made some black tabs to glue inside the bottom piece to attached to the top of the cap - basically a 2 by 1 inch piece of cardstock - folded in half - one section was glued inside the bottom of the cap and the top part was glued to the underside of the top of the cap - it worked for me.

1 jar - this is a relish jar - you can use a pint Ball jar - etc.

Gold Brad for the top of the hat - punch or make a hole in the middle of the top of the cap with scissors or a poking tool.

Red Twine [Taylor's school colors are red and black]- so use whatever color you want for the tassel

To make tassel - wrap embroidery thread around the 3 inch square about 15 times  - cut through the tread on one of the ends - take another piece of embroidery thread to wrap around the folded part of the embroidery thread to make a loop- push the Gold Brad through the loop and then through the middle of the cap to attach the tassel - bend the brad parts inside the hat. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Money rolled up like a diploma and tied in place with embroidery thread

Taylor - Red Cardstock - Cricut Machine - Classic Font Cartridge - cut 3/4 inches - ran through  Xyron to make stickers to attach to the hat
