183 Days Until Christmas!!

Howdy Crafters -
I created a Christmas card today - using the Window Gate-card technique - it is pretty easy to create if you have a nice stacking die set for the frame and message inside the card - hope you will give it a try - Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy!  I cannot locate the tutorial in which I learned this technique but look below this posting after my list of challenge entries and I have some instructions to guide you along the way.

How to make a Gate-fold Window Card
1. Find a gate-fold card technique - HERE IS ONE - CLICK HERE
1a - once you make your base card and add any top cardstock to the gatefold [I did not add additional cardstock - I was using double sided cardstock, so I did not need that extra layer to decorate the top]- it is time to cut the window.

2. To make window - lay the correct size die inside the card where you would like the window - make sure the die has the cutting side UP! This will cut through the top layer of the gate fold ONLY. I just put a piece of removable tape on my die to hold it in place.
Hint: I used 2 same shaped dies but different sizes - I used the smaller one to cut the window and to use for the sentiment inside and the large one - see step 3 to make my border for the outside of the card.

3. After cutting the opening in my gate-fold card[see #2] -  I took my two stacking dies - putting one inside the other - cut side DOWN and laid them on red cardstock - I taped them down with 2 sided tape to keep the dies from moving when running through my Cuttlebug

RESULTS: I would get one full shape cut for another time [or you could use that piece to STAMP something, etc.] and the outer shape [border] in red to glue to the outside of the gate-fold card window.] I used glue to hold down the shape outside the window - then used my scissors to cut through the border so my card would open.

I HOPE these instructions make sense - if I had the tools to make a video I would do these step-by-step - sorry I cannot locate the video that showed me how to do this. Have a blessed day.
