In Honor of James {JIM} Petiprin

Howdy bloggers:

Thank you for stopping by today.

I created this card for my dear friend Amy. The school district in which Amy I both lived built a new high school [Carman High School] the year we graduated.  Amy and I have been friends for many years. Since our graduation, the name of our high school, including the mascot and school colors changed; today that high school is known as Carman/Ainsworth.

Amy's wonderful husband Jim passed away just before Christmas in 2013. We miss him greatly. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, son and dear friend of ours.

Amy and Jim opened their home more times then I can count for us to come and fellowship - we had numerous pot lucks together at their home,  both inside and outside as weather permitted.

Jim owned Petiprin Tree Farm for over 20 years. He worked for General Motors for over 40  years as a tool/die maker. After retirement, Jim taught welding to high school students. He was a very skilled tool die maker. He made a wonderful green Christmas tree out of horseshoes - it is an amazing piece of art.

A few summers ago, Rick/Dick and I vacationed in the same area with Jim and Amy and enjoyed time on their boat [fun, fellowship,] and  a few more pot-lucks.

Today I dedicated this posting to our dear friends, Jim & Amy - We love you Amy and we are here for you.

I leave you with this my dear readers, Life is short - cherish every moment - tell someone you love them today & have a Happy Week! ~ Gail ~

  2. Like the pop up card. Thanks for sharing a wonderful story of someone who touched your lives. My college changed names after I graduated. The college I graduated from in Orlando, FL was named Florida Technological University or FTU for short and is now named University of Central Florida or UCF for short. I still call it FTU. My hubby graduated from same college after college changed name. We did not know one another then. Also, college only had a basketball team when I attended and now has a football team which played & won against Baylor recently.

  3. What a wonderful tribute to a dear friend. I love the photo in between the tall pine trees. To Melissa Sunshine Honey Bee, my husband and niece graduated from UCF and my daughter and son in law from Florida State. They went to California a few weeks ago for the big game. GO NOLES!
