Elmo is getting ready for Christmas and he has been playing in the snow here in Michigan. Well, we do not have that much snow! We did have snow on Sunday morning - but it was more like mild snow with cold, cold temperatures and ICY roads! All is good however, and life is wonderful when you walk with Jesus. Thanks for stopping by today and have a great week! May the Lord bless you this week. ~ Gail ~

Happy Christmas ~ Tree ~ Snowman

Hi Paper Lovers - welcome to my blog. Well.... today we had S-N-O-W! Woke up this morning and looked out the window and there it was all white and fluffy on the ground - and as I drove to church -we had ICY roads as well - and the driving was around 15 MPH. Thankfully, we got their safe and sound and by the time we left the church building the roads were clear and the temperate was up - so not much snow left. Here is my card creation for today. Enjoy your week! ~ Gail~
Front of card - second fold

Inside card - space on the left to write a message
I had fun putting together this card. On the front I used a Tree embossing folder by Cuttlebug as the mat. I added a Snowflake red/green ribbon on the corner of the mat. Then I glued the mat to a pre-made white cardstock size A2 card and scored 1/2 inch on the opened end, folded it under and glued down. There is space on the inside front cover to write a message. I added a Create a Critter Christmas Tree Cricut Cut to the front of the card using pop-up tape by Forever in Time. On the inside of the card, I glued down a green snowflake paper print from DCWV Matstack. The digital stamp is compliments of Tammy at A Daisy A Day and must be used in their challenge. You can click here to download it free and please use in their challenge. I used Sharpies and Spectrum Noir markers for coloring the digital stamp. I then cut the digital stamp by using a Lattice Rectangular frame die cut by Spellbinders. The edges of the frame were inked with MS blue ink. I positioned the snowman on the lattice frame on the inside of the card (using pop up tape) close to the center so when the card is closed the green snowflakes are visible on the right side

Snowman Thanks Card

Welcome crafty people! I am honored you stopped by. Today, I pulled out the scrap box to create a card and I also found a Cricut storage box that had several Cricut Color cartridges that I picked up on clearance earlier in the year.  I decided to travel through my Gypsy Hand Held Cricut device and find some embellishments for my card as well. Here is what I created. I like how it turned out. Enjoy your day and come back again ~ Gail ~
Squigglefly winner card ~ Thank you!
RECIPE
Kraft Cardstock for the card
Scraps of cardstock from my scrapbook for the card mat, tree, banner, and thanks
Snowman Catching snowflakes digital stamp from Squigglefly (I won this stamp - Yeah!)
Sharpie markers for coloring - this is my first adventure at using these markers. I liked the results.
Cricut Cartridges:  1. Everyday Pop Up Cards - Banner  2. Classic Font - Thanks  3. Create A Critter - Christmas Tree
Pop Up Tape Forever in Time (behind Snowman and tree)
MS gray ink on snow
Tim Holtz Distress Antique ink on tree and Brown Chalk ink on Snowman
I used the Cricut Black Coloring Pen to outline the Thanks before cutting. I like how that turned out. I then colored the Thanks with a red Crayola coloring pencil. I colored the Heart Banner with a Sharpie and glued the Thanks to the banner. I then put an Action Wobble behind the Banner and trimmed the excess of the Action Wobble so it did not show. It works great! Wobble, Wobble!

Ernie - Wobble Tag

I just love the action wobbles. Have you tried them yet? They make any project fun to give. Here is my tag creation using my Cricut machine. Enjoy your day! Thanks for stopping by! ~ Gail ~
RECIPE
Elegant Edges - label -shadow cut (black ColorBok cardstock) top layer label Provocraft Blue Swirl paper

Ernie - Sesame Street Cricut Cartridge (this was a bugger to do - I no longer cut eyes - I put a piece of white paper behind the eye cut our area on the face and then use a black Micron pen to color in the eyes - this worked much better for me. All those striped pieces for the shirt were a mess - so I created a snow suit for Erie by tracing around the black shadow base, trimming the snowsuit a bit smaller,  then gluing the blue snowsuit to the black base piece - I personally think this works better than trying to glue down all of those tiny pieces and some of my tiny pieces did not cut nicely.

Black Micron ink pen for accenting

A Cottage/Cabin Christmas

One thing about the winter is spending time in the cottage/cabin. Well, I would if I had one! LOL Actually, my hubby was living in the Upper Penisula of Michigan when I met him and he had a cozy cabin up there (OK it was a trailer, but it was cozy to me!)- I hope your day is going fine -mine is dandy - and I am about to leave blog-land and spend some time with my  man, Rick. Have a great evening! ~ Gail ~

Ben age 21 months

Oh my goodness - I found my scrapbooking supplies today. It has been years since I have done any scrapbooking - but today I took the plunge! I found a Christmas picture of Ben, (taken November 24, 1979 when he was closing in on 21 months old). Ben was Born, February 28, 1978 - and yes, I was 12 when I had him - LOL - NOT! WOW! There is such a variety of items these days to use for scrapbooking - more than what I had 35 years ago! Possibly, I can finish up his partially done scrapbook. Here is a page I created today.

Bert & The Snowy Village

Happy Saturday Crafty People! Glad you stopped by. I have been cutting out characters from the Sesame Street Season Cricut Cartridge. I have to say, my first couple of cuts - Cookie Monster and Big Bird did much better than my Bert and Elmo. Never-the-less, I am finding ways to fix the mess ups. I think with this must intricate detail a 4" and 4 1/2" are too small. These characters would probably make better scrapbooking pages. Thanks for stopping by today. Here is Bert.
